Landcare is a community-based approach to addressing environmental problems and the long-term viability of agricultural production. It is about productivity, partnership, participation and people.

The North Central region supports more than 160 Landcare and Community Natural Resource Management (NRM) Groups and several Landcare Networks.

The North Central Catchment Management Authority delivers the Second Generation Landcare Grants program. The program funded by the State Government (through the Victorian Action Plan for Second Generation Landcare) enables community projects delivered by Landcare and community groups to address a range of NRM issues.

Spotlight: Free native vegetation identification workshops

The North Central Catchment Management Authority (CMA) Landcare team is holding four native vegetation identification workshops across North Central Victoria during September. The workshops will give participants practical advice on how to recognise common plant families as well as using field guides and basic keys to properly identify species. Participants will be introduced to the classification and naming of vegetation along with vegetation survey techniques.
