A Community-Based Approach

The North Central region supports more than 160 Landcare and community based natural resource management (NRM) groups, and several Landcare networks. Landcare in the North Central region is about productivity, partnership, participation and people.

The North Central Catchment Management Authority (CMA) delivers the Victorian Landcare Program, funded by the State Government. The program includes the Victorian Landcare Grants, the monthly regional newsletter 'The North Central chat', training, workshops and activities that address a range of NRM issues.

The North Central CMA also hosts the Australian Government's  Regional Landcare Facilitator project, which aims to support community members to adopt sustainable land management practices and protect natural resources.  The project hosts a number of workshops, short courses and field days across north central Victoria.

The February edition of the North Central chat is out now with all the latest Landcare and Waterwatch news from around north central Victoria.

It’s back! The North Central CMA, in partnership with Goulburn Broken CMA and Murray Landcare, is proudly hosting the third annual Future Farming Expo. This year’s expo will be held in Moama on Wednesday 4 March 2015.

One of Australia’s leading rabbit control experts will speak at an information evening at Kerang next month, aimed at taking the next steps in reducing local rabbit populations.
